A Different Goal

May 2005

On May 25th 2005, we had a different goal in sight - not a single registration mark entered the frame! In support of The Albrighton Trust, British Car Registrations, captained by Director Brian Bell, fielded a football team against The Birmingham City All Stars managed by Capital Gold FM's Tom Ross. The venue, the famous Villa Park, home of Premiership team Aston Villa.

The British Car Registrations team sported the Aston Villa home strip and the opposition wore their customary all-blue kit. The ball boys and ball girls wore specially printed T shirts to mark the occasion and their important contribution to the event.

The players were thoroughly spoiled in all aspects, from using the players' car park and entrance and first team dressing room (complete with refreshment service and 5 star washroom facilities) through to running out onto the pitch to the traditional musical fanfare! Most of the British Car Registrations team said they would be happy to turn out for "the Villa" every Saturday for free if they could expect such superstar treatment (those who could still speak by the end of the match, that was!).

A wonderfully exciting evening was had by all even though (rather predictably) the trophy was lifted by The Birmingham City All Stars after their 5-0 win (it could have been worse!).

British Car Registrations is happy to support The Albrighton Trust. The charity was established to provide recreational activities for disabled people (activities such as fishing, croquet etc) where they can participate alongside their able-bodied friends and family.
