European Success for BCR-sponsored Skier
November 2008
Capping-off a wonderful series of races, Florence Bell took the title of European Indoor Ski Champion for her age category at Manchester’s Chill Factore on October 12th.
From the start of the race, there was never any doubt that Florence had things comfortably under control and she won in convincing style; beating many other older female skiers en route.
Florence is now looking forward to preparations for the outdoor snow racing season, starting with her first race of the year at Les Houches in France on January 5th and 6th – the Anglo-Scottish.
British Success for BCR-sponsored Skiers
October 2008
August was a great month for Victoria & Florence Bell who consolidated on their continued successes in Indoor ski races.
Florence took the title of Scottish Indoor Champion for her age category, held at Glasgow Xscape and, even more excitingly, became British Indoor Champion for her age category in the event held at Leeds Xscape!
Within her age category, Victoria achieved 4th and 6th positions in the respective competitions. These results would be amazing achievements in any case but are made exceptionally so when considering that this is the first year of racing for both girls.
As the Indoor ski-racing year heads towards its close with the final event (the European Indoor Championships) taking place in Manchester on October 11th & 12th and the British dry slope Championships taking place in Pontypool on September 27th & 28th , Victoria & Florence are both looking forward to taking their increased confidence to the 2009 races on the Alpine pistes of Europe.
BCR – Sponsoring British Sporting Talent
May 2008
British Car Registrations are proud to announce the sponsorship of two more up & coming young sports people in the Birmingham area - the Bell sisters (Victoria & Florence).
After a winter spent at Aiglon College in Switzerland in 2007, ski racing in the Alps, Victoria, together with her younger sister, entered the series of British home races held in Italy, Switzerland and France (English, Welsh and Scottish) and both qualified for the British Championships held in Meribel, France in April 2008. Both girls finished well above their seed points – a great success for their first year – especially considering they both have more years to compete in their same age groups.
The indoor season has now started with the inaugural Anglo-Welsh Championships held at the Chill Factore in Manchester – a National Championship for which there was a qualifying level of seed points - delivering a 12th place for Victoria and a 3rd place for Florence.
Riki Christodoulou – Top of the Podium at Brands Hatch!
March 2008
British Car Registrations is delighted to again confirm sponsorship of Riki Christo for a second season of Formula Renault UK with Michelin. Riki is again racing as part of the Fortec team.
The 19 year old former British Junior Karting champion was overjoyed with his win in the first of two races at the season’s opening in Brands Hatch last week. Taking the chequered flag
in what was, according to Riki, a “rather boring race” was an “awesome” experience and one he would clearly like to set a precedent with for this season.
Riki had a successful first season in Formula Renault with 7 podium positions. Of the first race of this season Riki said “I felt really confident and relaxed and it helped with this being
my second year in the championship”.
With the astonishing success of home-grown Lewis Hamilton in Formula 1, it looks like Britain has much more motor racing success to look forward to in the years to come.
