On The Right Track!
November 2003
British Car Registrations is delighted to announce that customers who buy on their web site are now able to track their order 24hrs a day, 365 days a year - at their own convenience.
A very straightforward process allows the purchaser to log-in at a time to suit themselves and check exactly what stage their transfer has reached.
Its all part of making the system as customer-friendly and adaptable as possible and everyone at British Car Registrations is pleased at how efficient the system is.
Our New Look
October 2003
At British Car Registrations we have become used to favourable comments about our distinctive logo over the years. However, when our new web site was in its very early stages, the designer took it upon himself to swivel the logo sideways to help it fit in the space he wanted. It was a bit of a liberty but we liked the result and he was soon forgiven!
And so, the new BCR logo was born. It complements the feel of the new web site but is still recognisable as our logo. We like it and we hope you do too!

100 Years of Cherished Registrations
June 2003
Not many On Your Bumper readers will have been around in 1903 but, if you had been, you would have witnessed a defining moment of motoring history the birth of the car registration. The Motor Car Act of 1903 was introduced to help identify vehicles and their drivers.
County Councils and County Borough Councils were made Registration and Licensing Authorities. For the 17,000 vehicles licensed in 1903, the registration fee was 20 shillings and the fee for a drivers licence was 5 shillings.
The speed limit in 1903 was 20 mph and remained so until The Road Traffic Act of 1930 set a variety of different speeds for different classes of vehicles.
Interestingly (or alarmingly) there was no speed limit at all for vehicles carrying less than 7 people!
