Nominee

On a

certificate of entitlement

or a

certificate of retention

, the grantee or purchaser can elect to have a "nominee" on the certificate. When it comes to assigning the mark from certificate it will be possible to transfer it to a vehicle registered in the name of the grantee/purchaser or in the name of the nominee. However, the nominee has no rights to the mark in

DVLA

's eyes and the nominee cannot sign the document to request renewal, change of nominee or assignment. In addition,

DVLA

will not speak to the nominee or correspond with them. They will deal only with the grantee/purchaser.
