certificate of retention (a V778)

the form which needed to be completed was a

V778/1

. This

DVLA

document has been replaced by an updated

V317

and the

V317

is now multi-purpose in that it can be used to transfer a registration mark from a vehicle to another vehicle or from a vehicle onto retention.
